Sign In Enterprise Looks Beyond Profit to Create Positive Social and Environmental Impact Through B Corp Certification and 1% Pledge

SEATTLE – October 22, 2020 – Sign In Enterprise, the global leader in cloud-based enterprise visitor management systems (VMS), today announced it is now certified as a B Corp. The rigorous certification process is based on how companies create value for employees, the local community and the environment. B Corps are required to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. Sign In Enterprise joins an esteemed group of more than 3,500 companies across 150 industries in over 70 countries, including Athleta, Ben & Jerry’s, Patagonia and Traction on Demand.

“The B Corp mission resonates deeply with us – success is more than dollars, it’s how you make a difference in the world. It’s one thing to be successful in business and measure it financially. It’s another to make a broader, sustainable impact on the people, planet and environment around you,” said Keith Metcalfe, CEO at Sign In Enterprise.

To obtain B Corp certification, a company must complete the B Impact Assessment – a comprehensive verification of a businesses’ impact on its workers, customers, community and environment – and make their B Impact Report transparent on bcorporation.net. B Corps are required to recertify every three years with the aim to track performance over time and ensure continuous improvement.

Sign In Enterprise has also taken the 1% Pledge by committing its product and employees’ time to its communities and chosen causes. Spearheaded by Salesforce, Atlassian, Rally and Tides, Pledge 1% is a movement that integrates philanthropy into the core of business. Metcalfe added, “We are a purpose-driven company. Our commitment to achieving B Corp certification and joining the 1% Pledge reinforces our overarching mission of creating safer workplaces for employees, visitors and contractors.”

The company aims to create a positive and meaningful work environment for its employees to thrive and also to give back to the local community. Every two weeks, employees are invited to feedback sessions and senior leadership presents information about company performance and strategy to promote transparency and empower internal decision-making processes. Paid volunteer days, professional development opportunities, parental leave and other benefits are provided to enable team members to work with the causes they are passionate about. Sign In Enterprise strives to contribute to and empower nonprofits. Contributions come in many forms, including donations of Sign In Enterprise’s technology, knowledge sharing, volunteering time and labor, and mentorship – such as teaching kids how to code. One of the nonprofits Sign In Enterprise partners with closely is the Dixon Transition Society that helps reduce the impact of domestic violence by providing a safe environment for women and children.

“We welcome Sign In Enterprise to our global community of changemakers. Thousands of companies around the world have applied for B Corp certification, but only a select number have made it through the assessment and verification process,” said Lindsey Wilson, Senior Associate, Business Development for the B Lab U.S. & Canada team. “This recognition underscores the company’s ongoing investment in volunteering, workplace diversity and a commitment to minimizing environmental impact.”

Sign In Enterprise’s B Corp certification and 1% Pledge are under the umbrella of Guest for Good, the company’s giving arm, which formalizes giving back and creating positive impact for customers, employees and the community. As part of this, the company recently announced a grant initiative to provide its visitor management software for free to long-term care facilities to better protect their populations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
